This was my first time watching this film, and it will not be the last. "Saving Private Ryan" is easily on the top of my list of all time favorites. It has truly changed my perspective on war and the toll it takes not only on families but the brothers that you are fighting with, and the respect they have for one another and their duty as soldiers. I have always known or believe to think i knew that war was awful and horrific however this movie has opened my eyes and shown me what it could of possibly been like to have gone through all that. What stood out to me the most after watching this film was bond between men and the sacrifice that these men would endure for each other and their country. Many of the things they did was out of respect and compassion, they respected their captain and carried out the missions even if they believed them to be "fubar" ( one of my favorite words from the movie) they were loyal and stayed strong. The bond between the small group that went to save Ryan really reached out to me, and I never really thought about how close these men would get and then how hard it would be to keep faith in saving someone you don't know when your best friends, your brothers is killed for one man, however they did it out of respect and demonstrated huge sacrifices throughout the movie and never giving up even when all the odds seem to be against you.
